About Us

As the owner of the company, Shawn De Taeye was trained by his father in basement waterproofing and general construction and went on to become a certified carpenter. His father, Rudy, operated his business for decades with the philosophy of providing excellent customer service and operating with a high ethical standard.

Unfortunately, his father passed away in 2014, but the lessons Shawn was taught by his father still guide how he operates his business to this day. The company began as a waterproofing company; however, there was also a demand for general construction as well. Given Shawn’s experience in carpentry, the business expanded into a construction division as well.

What type of training and certifications do you have?
Each employee has every & all necessary and required training and certifications such as WHMIS, Fall Arrest/Working from Heights, CPR and First Aid, Trench Shoring, and hazardous materials. We as a company update these and many more on an annual basis as well as partake to mandatory site inspections and safety talks on every job site.
Is your company licensed and/or insured?
Yes. Our company is a licensed contracting business which is recognized in every municipality throughout the Durham region, Toronto, Northumberland, and the Kawartha’s. We also maintain liability insurance as well as updated clearance certificates with WSIB. Every project gets added specifically to our insurance policies and tailored as necessary.
What kind of construction do you specialize in?
We specialize in basement renovations, carpentry projects, commercial projects, custom builds, and additions (which are our favourite).
What is the usual length of a project?
This is the million-dollar question. It depends on the on budget and what needs to be done. We look at previous and similar jobs to get an idea regarding the timeline, but each project is different. We will do our best to create a plan around your preferred timeframe.
Do you have your own crew, or do you hire subcontractors?
Yes, all guys are in-house employees with exception of specific licensed trades e.g. plumbing, electric, HVAC.
Who is responsible for permits?
Most projects are under a permit which is something we would pull and take responsibility of.
Do you offer a free in-person estimate?
Yes, these are a must and in-person is the optimal route going forward.
What is your service area?
